FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included with the Emergency Toilet Bucket?

This product includes a 5-gallon bucket with a snap-on toilet seat and lid. It does not include liners, bags, deodorizer, or other sanitation supplies.

Does this bucket come with liners or other sanitation supplies?

No. This is a hardware-only solution. Liners, waste bags, deodorizer, wipes, and other supplies can be purchased separately or as part of a complete classroom toilet or lockdown kit.

When would we use an emergency toilet bucket in a school setting?

It is intended for use when students and staff cannot safely leave a room or area to access restrooms, such as during lockdowns, shelter-in-place events, or temporary restroom outages.

Can this be used with your Classroom Lockdown Kits or toilet bucket kits?

Yes. Many schools use this bucket as an additional unit in large spaces or pair it with sanitation refills or full classroom lockdown kits to create a more comprehensive emergency setup.

How should the bucket be stored and how long will it last?

The bucket and seat/lid are durable and do not have a set expiration date. Store indoors in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

Is this appropriate for daycares or younger students?

Yes. The bucket can be used in classrooms, daycare environments, and youth programs as part of an emergency plan. Adult supervision is required during use, and schools may wish to add privacy and comfort items based on age group.

This product supports classroom-level emergency readiness and is commonly incorporated into school lockdown, shelter-in-place, and emergency operations planning. Many schools use options-based safety frameworks such as ALICE® (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate), SRP™, Run-Hide-Fight™, or district-specific emergency protocols. Because teachers and students may be unable to leave the room during certain situations, placing essential supplies at the classroom level helps support safety, comfort, and continuity until the situation is resolved.

Many districts standardize one kit per instructional space to ensure preparedness is consistent across grade levels, buildings, and campuses. This approach supports alignment with Emergency Operations Plans (EOP), Standard Response Protocols (SRP), and broader school safety requirements.
